Training for Change: How We Equipped 4,500 Youth for Climate Leadership



This program is a collaboration between Smith School of Enterprise and the Environment, Oxford Net Zero, University of Oxford, and Eco Interpreters, making high-quality climate education accessible worldwide. Launched for first time on May 3, 2023, the program spanned 13 enriching fortnightly sessions that dove into the intricacies of UNFCCC negotiations, preparing participants to contribute significantly to international climate discourse.


Its global outreach was underscored by the participation of 4,500 individuals from diverse nations, emphasizing the inclusion of voices from the Global South. The program's impact resonated worldwide, as evidenced by the heartfelt testimonials that celebrated newfound comprehension, capabilities, and conviction in tackling climate challenges. Its acclaim was reinforced by recognition from the UN Youth Climate Champions and a nomination for the Vice-Chancellor's Awards at Oxford, reflecting its role as a paragon of climate education. The initiative's legacy continues through the dissemination of its materials, making the shared wisdom accessible to all and solidifying the program as a pivotal step towards inclusive and informed climate activism.
